My experience with this board has been terrible. I RMAed the board to ASUS 3 times in one year due to its infamous CPU INIT error. What a piece of garbage.
After seeing it reviewed in the March 2007 issue (written by Gordan Mah Ung) where it garnered the "Kick Ass" designation and noticing it nominated for the Best of the Best list that month, I watched for it on the Best of the Best list from that issue on. From March 2007 to August 2007 it was listed as best 775 Mobo. Gordan, what were you smoking???
Then the September issue came out. The one with Dream Machine 2007. I thought for sure that the ASUS Striker Extreme would be the go to board for that year. After all, it was on the Best of the Best for half the year...
But NO! Some new EVGA board came out and you choose that one for Dream Machine 2007. WTF!!! (Maximum PC must have seen this error during 6 months of exposure, no?) I think the decision to go with EVGA was due to the instability of the board.
What a piece of crap this board is! I wish I could return it for my money back. Wishing and $100.00 will get me a decent Intel board...
Guess how much I trust Maximum PC reviews now? Guess how much I care if the Best of the Best list is in the magazine????
