Yes, AVG 8.0 has done it for the second time to my computer. I foolishly tried uninstalling/reinstalling it before checking this and AVG's own forums, and now Mozilla Firefox is now hosed (aesthetically speaking) and I will now have to back up all of my data, reformat and reinstall Windows. I am done with this freeware faux pas and will use a different antivirus/antispyware program. I guess you really do get what you pay for.

Yeah, I bailed from AVG & went to Avast.
Seems very light and updates well.
Better than that Norton mess.

Norton ? You sure get something !

I've been trying bitdefender so far so good, I like the idea of game mode how well it all works only time will tell.

Amazing! Since I got rid of AVG 8.0 and went to AVAST!, I've yet to have any unexplained FF browser crashes either!

I posted about this over a month ago. I also didn't like how intrusive AVG's daily updates were. Intrusive enough to cause me to be kicked out of active windows to click on its stupid OK button.

When I installed AVG 8.0 it slowed my computer to a crawl. I tried disabling the browser plug in, as some people said that fixed things, but it didn't.

I ended up uninstalling it. My computer's performance has been fine ever since. I'm trying out ClamWin right now, but Avast seems pretty good too.
