I needed to replace my old computer which was dying. I didn't have the time nor did I think i could buy one myself from scratch. I looked in Maximum PC which advertised CyberPower, IbuyPower and Dell. Before I started, I looked at resellerrtaings and checked online to see which vendor had the least problems. Although the scores were not that high, I took a chance on CyberPower because it scored slightly higher than IbuyPower and the costs was a little cheaper. (Dell was too expensive for what I wanted.) I order a low-cost yet decent rig on 6/8. It was scheduled to ship on 6/24 but got shipped 6/18 so I was happy that it was shipped quicker than expected. Anyhow, I keep reading the negative reviews about CyberPower so I was very nervous.

The big day came and the big black CyberPower box arrived. Everything was packed nicely and secured. I did inventory to make sure I received everything that I specifically order and it was included. I turned the computer on and everything booted up. I ordered mine without an OS as I was going to install XP which I already had (I am avoiding Vista at all cost). However, Vista was already installed which I know they had to install to ensure everything worked. I had to wipe out the hard drive since I couldn’t install XP with Vista already installed. All cables were nicely secured and organized. Everything worked fine, no problems. I did notice that they installed the RAM incorrectly. For dual channel, the 1GB RAM sticks need to be installed a special way. CyberPower installed the 2 sticks next to each other. Not a biggie but for someone who knows about computers this is not the way it should be.

Now, its been a month and I have not had any problems. I am very happy and satisfied and would buy from them again. I don’t know why others have had problems but maybe I was lucky. I would recommend them. I love the fact that I ordered this exactly the way I wanted. My only regret is not getting a better videocard although I don’t really play a lot of games. I got a Nvidia GeoForce 8400GS.

Seeing as how this is probably the only shining review in a sea of pissed off customers for cyberpower, I assume this is a plant, and you leave this forum forever.

Thank you.

No dude. I am still around. I don't work for CyberPower or get paid to promote their products. However, I feel that they should get some good news as I have also heard negative things about them. Like I said, maybe I was lucky. I cannot blast them as my computer is still doing fine.

I'll let you know in a couple of months if I still have the same tune.

In terms of economics, Cyberpower MUST make at least a few customers happy and willing to come back, otherwise they would not be making any money. If they weren't making any money, they would be out of business.

Please do. I'm not normally one to flame any company, buy Cyberpower has really gotten under my skin. I am still dealing with them and trying to get a refund.

But just to throw oil on the flames have you seen the better business Bureau report for them? 451 complaints in 36 months.

Read the complaint experience. That is EXACTLY the issues I have with them.
