My year and a half old 225BW suddenly started acting up 2 weeks ago. Tried connecting it to another box, nothing. Went to Samsun's website and lookd for self help topics and found nothing. Tried to enter a RMA online but was kicked out because of an invalid S/N, wtf??
I then called and discoverd the S/N problem was that I missed one digit when I registered it. Person I talked to asked me a couple questions about what is was doing, (basically nothing, power light simply blinked, nothing else) and told me he would ship out a replacement. I had to provide a CC and a temporary charge of $500 that will ( I am told) be refunded when the defective monitor is returned.
Two days later I got an email with a tracking number (2nd day air no less!) and the monitor appeared a couple days later! It was the monitor only, no disks or cables, I unpacked the new, repacked the box with the old monitor and used the provided return shipping label (prepaid!) when I dropped it off at the local ups store.
Replacement monitor box was labeld refurbished, but it seems to be working fine. It is the same exact monitor, I wondered if they would just send out a more current model.
I own 3 Samsung monitors, several cd/dvd burners and a Samsung DPL television. Really have been happy with all of them, this is my first piece of equipment to fail and the warranty procces has so far been quite painless!
I give em 5 starts as long as my $500 gets refunded as promised!
