I went to high school just down the road from Diamond Bar before moving to Michigan. I was thinking the same thing, if anyone's in the area...

Hi Rick

May I have your first name, last name and the zip code that you put on the
rebate form? so i can check it up
for you .

It says, 10-14 weeks to process your rebate check on the rebate form, and if
you submitted your rebate in August or september , now it;s about the time
your rebate check to show up.

There are many reason why customer doesn't received their rebate. Many of
those who wrote on the forum, some of them are from our competitor, Some of
them are not even the customer who purchased product, some of them they
never submitted the complete documents, only I would say few of them who got
approved but move without notify SOYO, so they never got their check to
their new address.

Many things may happen, that is why we neeed to look into each case to tell
who's right who's wrong. If SOYO doesnt do why they promise, you think we
would be in business for such a long time?
Look forward to hear from you soon.

Now random people are making random rebate claims

Ill give them this one, but doubt it has anything to do with this rebate

So the rest of them moved and nobody does change of address anymore? Wow...

Yes, im venting.

HI Rick...

I dont see any record shown. I need you to send me the rebate documents so i can check what is going on.
Are you sure it has been 10-14 weeks since the postmark daste that shown on your rebate form?

I am glad you did contact us regards this issue.

Again, quick response by Soyo : )

Both invoices from Newegg were sent. I also forwarded the PDF document from soyo that we all had to fill out and include for the rebate.

Hi Rick:

You are one step closer to be denied from your rebate request. It says "
Limit one rebate per person, receipt, household, family or address." on the
rebate form. It's obviously that you bought this mb twice for the same
promotion.

However, Since non of the record shown on my data base. I need you to send
me the file of rebate documents (no just invoice) but UPC code and rebate
form. Let me see what can i do for you .
I hope you still have those paper.

Looks like they found the loophole to screw me over. So there doing this on purpose then. My guess is they are only going to honor those people that can send in copies of the original documents. I'll have to try that on my customers next time. Oh wait, I like keeping ALL my customers and not have them bad mouthing me or my company. Here is my response, as you can see im losing it...lol

I own a company that sold 2 motherboards to two different customers and 2 different addresses. I bought one for my personal use here and my mother in law bought one for her new computer. Weather this voids the rebate or not, I am still entitled to one of them according to what you said. But in this case I am entitled to both. The motherboard I bought for my use was bought with my credit card and shipped to my office. The motherboard that was bought for my customer was bought with her credit card and shipped to her house. So this does not void any rebates I have. The only thing in common is they were both bought under my Newegg account. Thats how it works when you own a business and sell parts to customers. I forwarded the rebate form used over to you already. And I cant send you the UPC codes because they were sent in to Soyo for the rebates. All I have here are motherboard boxes with missing UPC codes. The invoices show that the items bought were the items that qualified for the rebates.

Another reply from her:

By the way, please read once again the rebate terms and conditions. It said "12-14 weeks to process your rebate. from postmark date."
if your postmark date is 10/26/2004, 12-14 weeks from that day would be sometime in Feb 2005.
You will have to check your two rebates sometimes by the end of January or early Feb.

This is what happen to many customers. They skip to read terms and conditions, and start panic with no reason.

Happy holiday!!

Just like I was told...No Record was found...

I sent all the bits of paper they wanted, but now they want me to send them the bits of paper AGAIN? How can I? There is a hole in the box where I cut the upc barcode out. I no longer have the ORIGINAL shipping receipt as they wanted that as well.

Hi Rick

I understand, and that is why i said it's one step closer you will get deny from rebate request.

As I mention earlier, please don't be panic, and check your rebate status on www.verifyrebate.com sometime by the end of January or early February. That is when your rebate status will show up. Please once again read the terms and conditions.

Please keep my information with you if you need any assistance in the future

Ditto, and I will be sure to relay this experience when it comes to the many questions/recommendations that come through this forum looking for hardware advice.

I know this specific rebate nonsense with Soyo is common knowledge by now (as is the whole rebate game in general), but I wish the Dog would get involved and let Soyo get the published recognition they deserve. Soyo is a well known name, and for them to start crying conspiracy is nothing short of insulting.

EDIT:
I also just wrote that address an email to get the status of my rebate and Judy replied within a minute or so. She wrote:
    Dear Paul,

Please read once again the terms and conditions on your rebate form. The postmark date on one of the rebate form is Oct 26, 2004. and another one is Oct 1, 2004
It also stated that it takes 12-14 weeks to process the rebate. SO with your case i would say check back sometimes by the end of January or early february.

    Happy holiday!!!

It just donned on me that they're referring to the postmark deadline date on the rebate form, and not the postmark date of submission. So, I guess by mid-February we'll know if we've been officially screwed or not.

Read my edit above (you posted before I was done). I would still like to see the Dog get involved, but not until mid-February. As of right now, the Dog will get the same response as us, which says they're not past their deadline yet. :/

Oh yeah, your correct. Im sure The Dog will see this when he checks his mail and will act accordingly. Maybe he will even pop on and say "Hey, I got your backs". That alone will make it worth the wait....hehe

I'm in the same ship, I knew I should have made copies and all that, but I was tired of it all before I even started.

Methinks this Judy Chen is just giving us the run around. The form I used had post mark date of August 31 2004. I mailed it a week before that date - yeah, on my calendar I made a note on the 20th.

Lets say a week to get the snailmail from BC to California. No, make that two weeks as it has to go from CanPost to USpost. Now allow the high end of their processing estimate of 14 weeks, add another two weeks for snailmail, and it should have showed up this past week.

Oops, I forgot to allow for Xmas rush, so say another week on top of that. Which leads into New Year weekend and of course our civil service gets an extra two days off because the stat fell on a weekend...

Okay, I make the deadline in my case to be middle January.

I still won't buy another Soyo product or recommend them.

I have e-mailed dear Miss Chen 3 times in the last ten days. Not even an automated reply saying she would respond shortly.

Sadly, my terrorist connection has failed to provide me with the enriched plutonium I ordered, so maybe I'll just have to jump in the truck and drive down to their California office and kick a few desks instead.

Interesting how many websites there are now about the non-existent soyo rebates.

You'll be quite a bit away from them. They're based in Diamond Bar, very close to where I used to live in Southern CA.
