Hi,

I have a WD 160 gig HD that recently died on me. I finally registered the product to try to get it RMAed, since i bought it last July 4th and figured the 1 yr warranty would last till this July 2005. Turns out though, that the warranty expried on April 16 2005. I looked on the drive, and the drive was made in April 2004. Does it make sense for the warranty to end a year after it was made? Shouldnt it make more sense for it to end the exact time from a year that i bought it from? Is there something wrong here?

Thanks

Unless you have a receipt, it's the only way they know when it was built...if you talk to them, they'll likely let you RMA it since it's so close to the build date :)

*always keep receipts*
