There technical support sucks. I have bbeen unable to connect in offline mode, and I have tried everything only to get the same error. So I sent them a very polite (actually, compared to some of the other irate stuff I sent them, this was damn cordial) question.

According to steampowered.com, you usally get a response in 24 hours. It's now been almost two weeks... I won't waste any further bandwidth with this, except to say, Vivendi Universal needs to let go of valve's balls...

The school(dorm) has it blocked for access, so basically I can play an out of date from the disc version of half life or not at all...

Forget about buying half life 2...

Steam is the worst idea any game developer has ever had in terms of protection. They're a bunch of retards.

Steam is great! just the way Venvidi and Valve handle it is shit. I've only seen worse tech support in HP's brilliant website.

Steam is a great idea guys. To have all your games automatically updated and have everyone (gamers and server admins and develpoers) not worry about what version each other are using is great. The idea is great, implementation isnt.

Its a bad idea because they should have known they couldn't implement it and that it would just end up pissing everyone off and just scrapped the damn thing.
