I paid 139.00 for geek squad to come out and clean the viruses off my computer. My brother got sick of removing them just for them to reinstall. I decided id take my computer to the store (best buy at riverpark shopping center in fresno ca.) I then notice there cleaning computers with panda somthing or other off the internet. (charging almost 90 bucks a pop using free scanning software) You would expect them to be using a IT edition or somthing not free software.

Well to make a long story short I wont ever do buissness with them again they plain suck the big one. big one as in "insert word here"

A word of advice dont use geek squad there one of the suckiest buissnesses out there to remove viruses the guy I talked to didnt even know what a stop code was ROFLMAO!

There's a lot of fraud/bad business stories circulating about the Geek Squad:

Sometime I'm going to go in there and pretend to be a moron to see how stupid and misleading those retards really are. Its people/businesses like that who ruin the profession and hobby.

I did something similar to what some of those other people did. Except it was with MY MOMS computer.... You know the story, computer gets filled with crap and spyware and slows down. I had been reading stories about how Best But tricks people. So I took it over to a local Best Buy and had them run their diagnostics, and like everyone else they said that the hard drive was getting old and was slowly dieing and there was too much spyware and viruses to remove. To many viruses? Anyways going along with it I let them show me the computers and other stuff. I pretended that I was interested in a comp that had a AMD 64 3800 i think it was, when the guy is like, "No you shouldnt get a computer with that processor. Pentiums are much faster, he shows me the Mhz difference, all the while im laughing inside. So he shows me to a 3.2E computer and claims that it is faster. So I obviously had a person who lives by the Mhz. Then I started asking questions about video cards. I "seemed to like" the 6600 GT over the 9800 Pro. The guy is like, "No the 9800 Pro is faster than this card." The 9800 Pro was like 50 bucks more, guessing they try to squeeze as much $ out of you as they could. So once I got to pick MY dads computer up, I decided to show them something. I opened up my hidden folders and started Ad-Aware, ran it, then Spybot, and then McAffe. Anything I found I deleted. Then started up Disk Cleanup and Diskeeper. And what do you know? My computer was completely fine and much faster. All the while the people watching are speachless. So I packed up my computer and went home. Others that came for computer issues either left or asked me outside. Boy was that fun. You should try it.

LOL....Good stuff good stuff

I find the name offending...Just because you know how to work a computer your considered a "geek". And what’s with their gay little VW beetle...I just get disturbed when ever I go to best buy...thank god Circuit city opened up...way more kick ass

You find "geek" offensive but you call their cars "gay?"

Gay:
1 a : happily excited : MERRY b : keenly alive and exuberant : having or inducing high spirits

There's no room in that thing...they need a full size van. How can they carry all that necessary stuff, testers, soilders, wire, extra parts, guns, software, fans, cases.

Their beetle is a gay marketing tool not a real service vehicle.

You're using "gay" negatively, which was the point.

You can only use words like, "Jadakiss," "Alvin," "Akon," and "Simpkins" negatively.

That's what I was saying of course it may have a negative connotation to it but I meant it to mean something in more of a well, gay sense. :D
You are right. I was just using the old double talk skills.

They didnt even learn that. They just converted salespeople taught to tell people their broken computers are trashed and lead them over to the new computer isle in Best Buy.

Let's just say there's a damned good reason why they're lonely.

Geek Squad isn't all bad though. Consider that I fixed a friend's PC this week. He bought a E-Machines computer, got hooked up to DSL, and stupidly ran it for three months with NO ANTIVIRUS protection. I wish he had called Geek Squad and got ripped off for $200 instead of wasting two hours of my time to fix it.
