Okay, this is just fucking it.

I was cleaning up space on my hard drive, and found that the Applicatio Data folder in an old windows drive (not the current one) was taking up a lot of space, so I deleted it.

about 3 months later I go to edit a DVD slideshow I had created in Roxio DVD Builder, it was fucking gone.

So, I try to undelete it with Convar's PC File Inspector, and it seems that software has a bug.

I wait another month for the update, and then it works. Problem is, I don't know the file structure of the Application Data folder, therefore, I don't know where to put the file.

So, I go on Roxio's site. I find out that they charge by the minute for phone support, fucking bastards. So, I try the email support. It asks for my TSID#, and after searching for 10 minutes I find it and enter it. It would not fucking take.

So then I decide to join the forums on their site. I enter in all the required info, uncheck the spam boxes (there were four of them) and click the register button. The goddamn thing comes back with some type of error, though it doesn't say what.

How in the hell am I supposed to fix this goddamn problem? I spent 50 fucking hours building that goddamn video. I need it back!

Roxio Sucks a Llama's Ass.

Which is why I switched to Sonic RecordNow! after the release of CD Creator v5, too much bloatware in all the Roxio versions of the software.

Then again, Sonic bought Roxio a few months ago....

Did you somehow miss the last part of my post or did you simply reach for that reply button because you felt the need to repeat what I had already said?

Nope, completely missed that last little part. My bad. I'm just tired of all this consolidation of developers. Especially Symantec swallowing up the competition. That's just it, to me anyways. The government goes after MS heavily, yet MS hasn't swallowed up most of the competition. Hell, for the most part, you have the choice between Acronis and Symantec for archival software now. I always liked Powerquest's software.

When MS buys Apple, THEN I'll consider them to be a monopoly.

*edit* Oh, in response to Drainbread, I've only had one problem with Adaptec/Roxio. When XP was released. Barf... they knew about that one a long time coming...
