Let this be a warning to anyone who wants to save a few bucks and go with the I/O magic or any other generic optical drive. DONT.
I bought a i/o magic dual layer dvd burner and when I installed it, it gave me all kinds of blue screens, untill I couldent even boot with it in the drive.
I went back to the store and swapped it with a memorex and payed an extra 25 dollars and it works like a dream.

!!!!!!!!DONT BUY GENERIC HARDWARE!!!!!!!! trust me its not worth it! :o

Makes sense, optical drives are very affordable these days. I remember paying over 300$ for the very first 16X CD burner made by Yamaha... Not even the latest and greatest DVD burners cost that much today.
