Greetings. New to the forums, but been reading MaxPC for probably 7 or 8 years now. I don't want to do this, but I feel I have no choice. Back in April of this year (2011), I ordered a motherboard from pcplanetsystems.com. They charged my card, processed the order, then told me it was going to take a few weeks because the part was discontinued and had to come from China. This was going to take longer than I'd expected, like up to three weeks, but it is what it is. Unfortunately, this "China" they speak of appears to be on a different planet altogether. It is now November, and I've not received the part. A phone call to the number on the site (1-(877)-278-9108) yields nothing but a generic "Hello. No one is available to take your call. Please leave a message. BEEP!" Repeated emails have gone unanswered, except for the first two or three I sent them, which told me that the part was discontinued and that a refund was not available once the order was processed.

Has anyone else had this issue with PCPlanetsystems.com? If so, how was it resolved? If not, does anyone know a way to make contact with a real human there and see if I can be refunded my $97.45? Thanks in advance for any and all input.

Wow, http://www.resellerratings.com/store/PC_Planet_Systems doesn't make them look too good does it?

Not at all. Several of the responders in the link posted by Bald_Yew pretty much hit the nail on the head, about the delays and then no response. It's fair to say I'll not be shopping there anymore, but I would like to get my money refunded. The customer for whom the board was ordered told me not to bother anymore, to just give their PC back in non-working condition (a family issue came up), so I'm just plain out a hundred clams.

you can always dispute the charge on the card, and the credit card company may reverse it.

I contacted the credit union and they told me that any disputes must be filed within 60 days of the transaction's posting. They can't help me. Any other options? Does anybody know anybody who knows somebody who knows somebody who works there that I might get a usable phone number? Email is useless, as they no longer even respond anymore.

you can try the BBB, file a complaint, you can always take them to small claims court as well. If you file in your home state, they will very likely not send a rep to the court, so you will win by default.

I've added my voice to the resellerratings.com page, and am currently looking into a small claims action. Thanks. :) I'll let ya know how it all goes.
