I'd put this in things that made me happy but it was years ago. Got on an escalator not really paying attention. Looked up and there was the very bare ass of what turned out to be a very attractive female. She turned left, I turned right, never to meet again.

Too bad you didn't have a camera phone at the time, that'd be a wonderful memory to hold on to, lol.

Camera phones hadn't been invented yet. In fact cell phones weren't invented yet. In fact, ... never mind, I'm old.

Although the podcast's are verbal/audio, they are implicitly labeled as explicit.
This negates the OP's complaint about them in as much as his examples express
'surprise' to find such contemptible language in a professional magazines 'cast.

A word is a word, and I too find self-righteous grandstanding about their use
or misuse tiring at times. If you don't like what you hear, plug your ears, turn the channel
or DON'T DOWNLOAD AND LISTEN TO IT. I'm confident in stating that at no time has anyone
held a gun to the OP's head and forced him to listen to such tripe under threat of
death or disfigurement.

If you don't want your children to hear colorful language I would suggest you home-school them,
never let them socialize with other human beings and keep high-quality ear plugs crammed in their
canals at ALL TIMES, else they will hear it, they will use it and they will more than likely become
productive members of society.

Actually, they are explicitly labeled ... it says EXPLICIT LYRICS right there in bright red letters.

Regarding language on the podcast: Yep, it's salty. However, anyone who thinks we're purposely upping the cuss content in the podcast hasn't hung out at the office. The way we speak on the podcast is exactly the way we speak in the workplace.

We've tried cutting down on the vulgarity on the podcast; for a while we bleeped it, but that took too much work and it really sounded weird. Then we tried just not cussin' as much. That didn't really work either. We kept fucking up. Then we slapped a big ol' EXPLICIT label on the podcast. That seemed to work pretty well.

Just for you, though, we'll try to do Podcast 161 without cussing at all.

The podcasts are an extension of the magazine and IMHO they should be held to the same standard as articles in the magazine. How you speak to each other in the office on a day to day basis is irrelevant. I'm certainly not above uttering the occasional uh, colorful language, but not in something that is going out of the office. If you were doing a demo for higher management would you say "OK fucknuts, listen up"?
