well, im angry because i bought my first computer parts and only problem i had was broken hard drive which i bought from samsung. not only did i have hard time figuring out that hard drive was broken but also fact that i have to pay for shipment fee to send hard drive back to samsung to get it fixed.

i was like wtf, i have to pay shipment fee twice!!! when i bought and to get it fixed. this is bullshiteeeee.

i used to love samsung but now i'm shameful to be korean using samsung tv and other things when they have bad services for their own fault.

So if you also had bad experience with some of product you purchase list them here so i can avoid them. i should sue samsung for wasting my time and money.... but that will cost to much... Free lawyer anyone?

I dare you to find a manufacturer that doesn't make you pay shipping for an RMA to their RMA warehouse.

This is standard RMA practice.

You can at times get some manufacturer's to give free shipping if you have a complete computer (pre-built), but most part manufacturer's make you ship it back at your cost.

myself, i dont buy from the manufacturer, thats what the egg is for, and if its DOA, they will normally cover it.

and some items i buy locally, just for that reason, i can just take it back, but then i live in the bay area so i could likely take anything right to the manufacturer.

IMHO, Samsung products are among some of the best out there. I have a Samsung mobile phone, a Samsung DVD-R drive, and a Samsung 18.5" LCD monitor, and all of them function just fine. I have had the experience of servicing a Dell Dimension 3000 computer that has a Samsung 80 GB hard drive that still functions like a champ after nearly five years of use (one of the machine's memory sticks was the actual culprit that was causing the problem in the first place). It has always been my experience that, regardless of the manufacturer and/or their perceived reputation, every company that manufactures hard drives or any other electronic component for use in a computer will (on occasion) put out a product that can fail right out of the box. For all you know, the hard drive that you are complaining about could have been defective from the minute it came off of the manufacturing line, or it could have been damaged during shipping. Either way, it is premature (and unfair) to base your opinion of Samsung on a single defective hard drive.

Did you buy the HDD directly from Samsung, or through a vendor/etailer, such as newegg or tigerdirect? Usually the reseller will email you a prepaid shipping label, I know newegg usually does that with doa merchandise.

They may have an advanced RMA process like Seagate and Western Digital. I can't find out since I don't have my S/N's in viewable sight to punch in the form to find out, but it just might be there. That's where instead of sending in the part right away and wait on the turn around; they send you a new unit, you swap the part, put it in their box, and then send it out. They ask for a card number in case you don't return the part, but won't charge the card and will close the held funds once they get the faulty drive.
