Over the years I have used Norton utilities/antivirus etc. Every year you got a nottice that you would not get virus file updates unless you renewed. No big deal cause you could still use the other functions like back up, ghost or whatever. Recently I let my annual subscription expire and found out when this happens not norton shuts down completely. No protection form any viruses, no more back ups or firewall protection. NOTHING.
I'm done with symantec. this is just a big rip off and I'll down load separate software in the future.

Wow. Someone expects you to PAY for the services they provide and when you don't, they turn it off.

Do you fail to pay your electric bill and then complain like hell when they turn off your power? What about your water bill? I mean, they are providing you a service and expect you to pay for those services. Same as Norton on their antivirus.

You act like you're SO surprised that services were cut off suddenly. I've also used Norton for some time and you know what? Every single time they've given me plenty of warning that I needed to pay up.

You have a completely and totally worthless post IMO.

If you didn't want to pay, why not just download free tools?

Antivirus/Anti-Spyware: Microsoft Security Essentials

Firewall: Comodo Firewall (only install the Firewall portion).

Backup: SyncBack

I have to say, with the large assortment of free tools it shocks me to see a complaint against a pay security software company when you willingly sign up and pay for the service in the first place.

so you want to keep paying every time you use software? You want to pay microsoft every time there is a patch and if you don't windows stops working? you buy a game and if you don't pay every year the game stops working?

I will be going to free ware or software with a one time fee. If I get another back up software I don't have to pay to restore my back up.

I should have know the post would attract the maroons
