i was trying to see if ACER had ideas on which Displayport adapters to use for my dual monitor setups, or if ACER plans to produce any in the future. Well, the following, SOLVED (even though i would not think so) ended up taking a different approach to the question, as if they had no idea what i was talking about.

maybe i was not clear cut on the question, but after reviewing the support ticket, i thought i had made my question fairly clear.

Maybe the Displayport thing is too new for the support people out there for ACER, but it seems strange that they even wanted my monitors' serial numbers, even when it isn't really necessary.

I don't know, they kind of answered your question. They said they can't provide DisplayPort adapters.

I can't see your original asking question, but my guess is they tried to cover all their bases and assume there was a problem.

I understand why they asked for your serial number and such, all support departments ask for it just to be sure they are dealing with the right monitor. In this case it was unnecessary, but the support is probably trained to always get this info.

strange, though that they sent a link to a trade show @ http://www.skyline.com/ .i guess i was expecting more jargon and some paragraph explaining the technology, or something, instead of a link to a portable display website.

Yeah, they kind of hid that sentence in with the rest of the scripted stuff.

Not going to lie, Acer's support is kind of crappy, especially for notebooks. They insist you deal directly with the retailer, while the retailer insists you deal directly with Acer. Major headaches result.
