Hi :D

This is for all the LONG time computer users out there a trip down computer lane.

Ya rember them BIG floppy disks they had 5 1/4 :shock: and then when we leared how to make them 2 sided """ GALLL EEEEEEEE "" you could hold TWICE the info just take out of drive and flip over. just had to cut a notch in other side of disk.

How about them Apple computers they had 2 floppy drives and GREEN displays.

How about Organ Trail game or
Castle Wolfenstein """ZEEE HAULT""""

One of best codes ever knew was

That must of been 20 years ago!!!!!

The neabors dad had one that you put togher you typed in code and it would do things talk about CPU power !!!!!!!

The one that must of got to me was the VIC 20 it was cool you could play games on it just put in a new cartige.

How about the Radio Shack Tandy computer Used to think that 3 1/2 disks were Hard Drives they had a hard outer case right.

Them Nentendo days 24/7 Zelda or Excite Bike

PlayStation YEP

How about My first computer paid $3200 for it

486 66mz DX2
16 meg of Ram $50 a meg
870 mb Scsi Hard drive $870 for drive
Nec 17" monitor Still in use


Ever rember modem speed of 9600 on Compuserve ???

How about a SLI computer

166 mz
4 Gig hard Drive
32 mg of Ram
Dimond 2d card
Dimond 3D Card Voodoo 2 it rocked still have it.

Curent Rig

666 mz
FX 5500 pci card
512 mb ram
80 Gig hard drive
Usb Card

Working on building a New Computer a SLI rig none the less

Had SLI before and going back to it again.

:D

Would Like to THANK MAXIMUM PC for showing things ya need and what to stay away from.

Some issues that have are

99 Gear of the year
00 Gear of the Year
01 Gear of the Year

03 Gear of the Year
04 Gear of the Year

Lost or never got 02 Gear of the year.

I started work for a defense contractor in 1982 where I designed S-100 bus memory and I/O cards. Operating system of choice at the time was CP/M.

I own a pair of 8 inch floppy disks with MS-DOS 2.0 made by Seattle Computer Works... package has never been opened.
