I was wondering when can we see a digital camera review section in the magazine. I mean a true geek has to have the latest hardware and a digital camera is one of them. I know that everyone in a while you guys throw in a high end camera comparison like in the Dec 04 issue where u reviewed the Canon EOS 20D, but how about comparing the midrange camera's like the Canon SD200-SD300 against the Kodak DX7630 , those are the sweet spots prices ($200-400). I mean digital cameras come out as fast as any hardware these days.
I love the magazine, here in Iraq it all I read, like I stated above, I was just wondering.
BTW I love "How To....Shoot and Score.." section in the Dec issue, it covered alot of basic "need-to-knows" that newbie need to know.

i'm sure it's tough for them to consistently report on one sort of peripheral. i'm sure that since they don't specialize in any one aspect of computing that they probably do camera reviews based on their relative popularity to the other hardware they feature.

Some of us on staff are huge digital camera fans, and as such are trying to get more coverage into the magazine, but we have to be sensitive to overall magazine balance of coverage of pure hardcore hardware. That said, I believe we're working on a point-and-shoot roundup for the near future, and we'll try to review all high-end DSLR's when they come out as well.

Thanx, I know that MPC is for the all the hardcore hardware but some people get mislead when trying to purchase a camera and end out either paying more or getting a crapy out camera. But I do think a point and shoot round up would be good ever so often. Thanx guys!

I remember when one of the first issues that came out after Jon took over for Brad was a PDA issue.

Wow, did they hear all about how the magazine is becoming MaximumPDA & other such vitriol.

I can just see it now...

Whiner #1: Cancel my subscription. You guys are turning into MaximumCamera.

Whiner #2: Yeah--the magazine's not hardcore anymore.

Whiner #3: I wish Boot were still around. They were hardcore.

Whiner #4: Yeah--when I ground up the pages from my Boot mag into a tea, it would cure cancer and bring peace to the Middle East

I remember that... It went on for longer than one issue.
