 I like to see an issue on the top 10 best Registry software fixes, cleanups and ones that come in bundles like Norton from Maximum PC.

There are tons of websites like this one: About.com List that have already answered that.

I tried Iobit's Advanced System Care 5 and my PC couldn't install critical Windows updates like it once had. I went to Microsoft's Answers forum and posted about this. Someone there asked me many questions and when I admitted using a registry cleaner he pointed the finger to it. He also provided me with links to discussions about whether registry cleaners are any good. The person advised me against using ANY registry cleaner. Before you act I recommend visiting Microsoft's Answers forum and ask people who best know Windows.

Auslogics RC is the best I've found. Scrubs, cleans and fixes beyond all others...and it's free.

The reason why the magazine probably hasn't touched on is because there's still a huge debate on whether or not cleaning the registry is worthwhile or provides any real benefit. Also cleaning the registry has the downside that you could inadvertently muck up a configuration that some other software was actually expecting (though this is rare).

Besides, CCleaner comes with one anyway and it's usually the software recommended in just about every freagin' "list of PC applications you must have"
