Man, I love maximum PC.
I've been a subscriber for years and I have gotten a ton of useful info from it.

But it drives me crazy that often when I need to go back and find something I know I've read, I rarely have any luck.

Maximum PC is chock full of useful stuff but I would actually pay more to be able to access the info in past issues in a better way.

Right now I'm looking for a good socket 754 CPU fan/cooler.

I've search, 754 cooler, 754 fan, 754 cooler roundup, 754 heatsink.
754 cooler returned these infuriating results :
zalman's newest cnps cooler ditches circular design
Intel's core i5 anaylzed and tested
exclusive:we build the first nehalem system

I'm pretty sure the article on core i5 does not contain any information on socket 754 cpu coolers.

I also find it unlikely that this was never covered.

I know it's not bleeding edge or even current edge but it was at one time and there was probably some info on it.

I've had the same problem with when searching for an article I know was relatively recent regarding an anti virus roundup.

I love the mag, I just hate how when I can use info I've read I can never find it.

You know their is a PDF section above of a lot of the past magazines. You can use the Adobe search function if you have a general idea of when the article was.

I often make use of the PDFs as well as keep copies of the mag often for like a year.

Neither option nets me the ability to easily find the articles I'm looking for.

This is the internet age, this is Maximum PC. You'd think Maximum PC would make better use of the abilities of the web, databases, etc, in order to make the info & articles easier to find & search through.

As well as accurate.

Whatever search technology max pc uses is terrible, but if you set up a custom google search of maximumpc.com, you can find things much more easily.

What do you mean, what sort of custom searches have you used?
