:x about two months ago we were trying to hook up to the internet. problem was that i was running millenniun edition, yuck!! everything was working fine except we couldn't get on the internet. after about 2 minutes of trying to figure out the problem, my friend told us he could get us xp pro cheap so we did. however, after upgrading to xp pro our sound stopped working. it says something like it needs a sound card to run sound. could someone please help me. i now have thew internet but no sound. is it to much to ask for both

System specs would be helpful, namely the motherboard. It's likely all that's needed is a driver install for your onboard sound (assuming you didn't disable it in the BIOS as well).

it would help alot if you tell us what soundcard do you have? is it onboard or add-on? i think you might just need updated drivers for your soundcard.
