I'm wondering if there is something like the "Kill-a-watt" meter for network monitoring? Since most homes running wi-fi have multiple devices (laptops, phones, etc.), is there some device to plug into the router to see the consumption?

The router may have something on its firmware. You could also install a custom firmware that has this feature like Tomato. Otherwise you could sort through https://www.google.com/search?q=wifi+ba ... annel=fflb

A lot of routers will log overall bandwidth usage (and a lot of other things). Check the menu.

DD-WRT
Tomato

Otherwise you are SOL for a router based solution.
