 Post subject: rip sound from dvd movie

is there an easy way to get the audio track off of a dvd so that I can record to cd for audio only playback
I have dvd copies of sermons and speeches that I want to get audio from

As long as you are not violating any copyrights, it can be done with FREE software.

Someone may post with a quicker solution so you may want to consider those if posted.

First, record your DVD to your computer with VLC. It is advertised as a ‘player’ but with a short learning curve it is also a recorder. It will do an analog recording of your DVD… like recording a TV show on VHS.

Second, it will record in .mpeg format. You will then need to download and install a ‘file conversion utility’ (if you don’t already have one). I recommend Format Factory. Use that to strip the video from the .mpeg file and convert it to .mp3.

Third, once that is done, you’ll have a .mp3 file that you can burn to a CD.

thanks for the help already use vlc on pc for watching movies others have also posted the same so im sure there will be no problems
thanks again
it will be nice to listen to live concerts while im driving
