I'm posting this on the crapper with my Pentium 120 notebook, keeping my legs warm.

I think that tops your overclock.

HA! I use a 75Mhz 486 laptop with a whoppnig 10MB of RAM to write when I am away from home ... it has a wireless network card (don't even ask how hard THAT was to configure ... ), so I just use it to find wireless hotspots in local cafes and shell into my development box at home. :D

When you're this poor, it is kinda chic.

So I like to tell myself

And I made the point that there is nothing better than a slot A classic not thunderbird athlon. As none of the newer ones could even come close to doubling there speed.

2.6Ghz is as high as I've seen Athlons go with out phase vapor/extreme cooling.

not really, 2.6 was easily reached by me except for the ability to stay stable during a full load. ran 3dmark03 and 3dmark01 also sandra 2004. seens the 2.57 was the highest but im limited because of my frontside.

IMO, not having stability = unsuccessful OC.

Seems that 2.5 is the wall these things are hitting. IMHO, it's something that AMD is going to have to deal with soon. They can't tout being "the cool one" forever.

athlon 2400+ at 2.28GHz WITH retail fan....only reason its stable is because its in my frozen basement. retail heatsink sucks for OC.
