One more to add... this is on the new motherboard Intel SATA 3 controller, 2x Vertex 4 128GB SATA III SSD's in RAID-0. Prepped them for the new board by re-flashing 1.5 firmware (shipped with 1.5 but why not...), and performing secure erase on both SSD's.

HOLY $HIT that's impressive considering the AMD controller would hit 1.1GB/sec in ATTO, but the Intel controller can just barely hit 900MB/sec in ATTO with default settings in both cases... Not to mention more than double the score of a single drive on the AMD controller

That makes two of us :!: and yes, it's on the X79-Extreme9.

I'll check it out again in 2 weeks after my burn-in is completed, base-line testing is done, all my games & programs are installed, & the array has a little bit of use on it.

Are you seeing any real world benefits of your new Vertex4 array bench speeds?

Actually... nothing "noticeable" outside of benchmarks. Boots into windows 2 seconds faster than a single Vertex 4. Programs seem to open just as fast, game levels seem to open just as fast... If I sat there with a stop-watch & timed everything, I could probably find some improvements, but the 'feel' of the PC is about the same Vs a single Vertex 4.

Okay, here we go, 3 weeks of use, burn-in complete, base-line testing complete, got tons of games & programs loaded on this puppy, 144.2GB worth of programs & games, all my data is of course moved to/stored on the HDD's.

Considering that the array is now over half full & was only 4% full when the first test was run, I would say that's not bad at all!!!
