I was curious about this... Currently, I have a student version of Maya installed and activated. Now I have a copy of Mudbox 2012 retail coming from Amazon, and was wondering... Is is possible that using a retail copy of Mudbox will indeed null and void the student edition of Maya at all? Just curious how Autodesk's licensing policies worked. Because if this is the case, looks like I'll probably have to wind up with XSI Mod Tool for modeling with.
I guess you could say that I was in those "well, I can afford Mudbox for high-poly sculpting, but can't afford the big guns from Autodesk for modeling and/or animation" type of situations.
Plus Blender is a mleh modeling tool, I mean, I'm glad it's free and popular, but...it's certainly not the best modeling tool for professional results.
