Ok, so I've been trying to choose parts for a new PC. I'm debating on RAM right now... I had picked out the following:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145347

HOWEVER, my local frys electronics is selling this set at 85$ MINUS 30$ in MIR, so 55$:

Do you think the Kingston is just as powerful as the corsair choice? If not, is the 40$ worth going for the corsair? They look like the same specs to me..
I'll be using this PC for gaming and video editing. Parts are currently i7 sandy bridge, 2tb HD (bought just before the price skyrocketed! w00t!), 850w, etc...

well the corsair is a little faster, but it runs at lower voltage as well. which would make it more desirable to me.

It's not worth the extra $40 for the Corsair. HyperX is Kingston's high performance (overclocking) line. Many of the modules are rated for 1.65V (based on the assumption that the memory will be overclocked and require more power) but run fine at stock BIOS settings (normally 1.5-1.6 these days). Kingston is one of several brands that I have used for years without issue, although Corsair is another vendor that I am partial to. From the point of view of a frequent system builder, I prefer the low-profile heatsinks on the HyperX, especially if air cooling with quality aftermarket parts. You really don't need gargantuan heatsinks to cool RAM at these speeds, and many the better CPU coolers (read: Prolimatech) are too large to couple with large RAM heatsinks comfortably.

Well I'm going to probably stick to the stock speed of 1600 90% of the time, so Kingston is probably the way to go right?

It's the way that I would go. You're not really sacrificing any performance and you get to pocket $40.
