Hey all, I've backed up all of my DVDs to my HDD for streaming on my home network (no problems there). I don't have the original _TS folders but converted them all to MP4 files using H.264 and "High Profile" settings on HandBrake.

Thing is, I can't burn one that will work as a DVD. The X-Box keeps saying it's "Mixed-Media" and can not play it, and our DVD player will not recognize it.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I'm using ImgBurn, Handbrake, and XMediaRecode.

I'm not sure you can burn the way you're talking.

If I'm reading this right, you're burning an mpeg-4 encoded file as DVD, which is turn will also encode it at mpeg-2. So obviously the mixed mode you're reporting.

Off hand I'd say you need to making DivX disks, (which I'll guess is nothing more then a data disk with the file on it)or changing the format to something that's mpeg-2 compressed and then burn to DVD.

I looked up the “ImgBurn” thing and I’m with furball on this.

Since you converted the files to .mp4, I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest something slightly different.

If the .mp4’s play on your computer, I recommend downloading and installing either DVD Flick or DVD Styler. Both are free and will burn .mp4 videos to playable DVD’s.
