I was wondering if it is possible to use both Intel's built in graphics processor and a discrete graphics card at the same time when you do transcoding or anything that requires more gpu processing power. I've heard the Asrock's Z68 Extreme4 can switch between the discrete and onboard with Virtu. But can you use both of them at the same time for a certain task?

No.

One or the other switched with software in certain LUCID boards.

That sucks, wish it was possible. Also I was wondering when your using the onboard graphics will the discrete graphics shut down b/c it's kind of crazy if I don't use it and it's in idle and wasting XXXX watts of power. I've read in an article that it's using nearly zero watts when switched to onboard graphics but wanted to be sure.
