 Post subject: Any idea when WD will release Caviar Black 3TB drives?

I want to put a RAID 5 array together for my HTPC/NAS. I feel that the Caviar Black HDDs are a better choice then the Caviar Greens due the longer warrenty, dual processors, and faster rpm.

Any idea when WD will release the next evolution of Caviar Black HDDs?

I already know about the caviar green drives, that is why I posted this thread. I dont want some power saving drive in a RAID config.

Nope Caviar Blacks only come in up to 2TB. I even called WD but they refused to answser the question.

BTW Caviar Black 2TB is the same price as the Caviar Green 3TB.

You can use Scorpio Blacks but I think they only go up to 1 TB.
