Maximum PC

Been searching and I haven't found an answer on this one. Obviously you can use the iphone 4's 3g connection for web browsing and set it's wireless antenna as an ad-hoc wireless connection for your laptop or what have you. BUT can you set the iphone up as an access point?

I have a friend who's company laptop's group policy prohibits ad-hoc network connections because it makes winxp vulnerable to cracking at airports etc.

If I recall correctly, you can plug the iPhone in to the laptop with one of those white usb cables then turn on the "Personal Hotspot" feature and if the latest version of iTunes is installed it will "install" the iPhone as if it were a new network card

I believe this requires the more expensive iPhone data pricing to accomplish.

There is an extra fee for tethering if it's an At&t. I'm not sure if Verizon charges to tether but I imagine they do. I also see Verizon unlimited data is gone faster then it left At&t with the Iphone.
