You really should look at an external that uses eSATA. This uses USB 2.0. I've never heard of/used a Cavalry drive but I have used Acomdata products before and liked them. The link is for an equivalent 2TB drive.

2TB externals are pretty rare though, at that point youre getting in to NAS levels. Do you need that much space? 1TBs are much more common and more reputable manufacturers have lots of products in that range.[/url]

Western Digital and Seagate both have had 2TB external drives for some time now, and Seagate just released their 3TB drive. The new 3TB unit is USB2.0, but has a Goflex module you can swap out for USB3.0 or Firewire 800. Check 'em out

Buy quality dude. I've never heard of Cavalry either, and who knows what's in that thing. I can't even find a 7.2K 2TB drive for under $130, let alone $115 for that external unit. For $109 you can get a 2TB drive and can surely find a cool case for it for about $40, and then know exactly what it's got.

I would make my own, then you know what kind of quality you are getting.
Rosewill External Enclosure - $40
WD 2TB Green - $120

Not the cheapest solution out there, but $160 isn't too bad a deal. Bottom line, you get a reputable brand in WD, you don't have to worry about that crappy SW they bundle with externals, and the enclosure is reusable and it has a nice fan to keep it all cool. Also you get eSata which is much faster than USB 2.0.
