Hello All,
FYI: I posted this on EVGA Forums also.. so, if you seen it there in the ModsRigs forum, that's me.

My power supply died on me about a week ago so; I decided this would be a good opportunity to buy a better case (Cooler Master HAF 922) along w/the new power supply (Corsair TX650W.) I also added a Cooler Master MegaFlow 200MM Red LED fan to the case side.
I really like this case. I'll be adding a better cooler later.. right now I'm at 3.0GHz (Intel Core Duo E6600 2.4GHz) on the stock HSF.

What do you think?? Later, Phil B.

System Specs:
Case: Cooler Master HAF 922
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 MHz OVERCLOCKED @ 3.0GHz
Graphics Card: EVGA 8800GTS 640 OVERCLOCKED: GPU MHz: 620 RAM MHz: 1000
Hard Drive(s): System: Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB SATA 6 Gb/s 32MB Cache. Storage: Seagate 250GB Barracuda 7200.10 SATA II 16MB Cache
RAM: OCZ 2x512 & 2x1GB Gold GX XTC PC2-6400.
Power Supply: CORSAIR TX650W
Motherboard: EVGA 680i SLI A2 122-CK-NF68

Since this wasn't asking for advice on what to buy or how to build it, I moved it from Help me Buy/Build to the Hardware Haven.

I think you've got a decent computer there. You ought to look at the CoolerMaster Hyper212+ for that CPU and get rid of the Intel cooler. I'm sure you're running pretty high temps, not dangerously so tho, at 3GHz. The 212+ is only $30 at NewEgg and will allow to push that E6600 a little further.

I ran a GTS 8800 640 for quite some time and it did impressively well on games at 1920x1200. I wasn't rockin Crysis at high settings or anything, but I wasn't hurting for good graphics either.

In the future, you may look for an E8400 when they're being sold used for cheap. It overclocks much better than the E6600. Also, a newer GPU wouldn't hurt at all. The ATI 5770 would smoke that GTS you have now and give you DX11 support for about $150.

It's selling for $27 right now on sale, and going in and out of stock. If you have the money, and the timing to jump on it as soon as it comes back into stock, now would be the time to get it:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product
Then again, if it is an overspecced Intel fan, it should do a great job. What I did while I had a bunch of 775 systems is for my hottest system (with a Q9650) I bought a good aftermarket cooler for it and overclocked the crap out of it. The Q9650s stock cooler, though was quite beefy, had a copper core and was some 4" tall. My other computer had a Q9300, which has a lower TDP and thus has a copper-core fan that is only about 1.5" tall. So I put the Q9650's stock cooler on it, and it hit 3.33Ghz quite cool on it. I then put that Q9300's fan on an E5200 machine and it was able to hit 3.4Ghz cool and stable with that thing. Of course, the E5200's fan was an all-aluminum piece of junk and that one was thrown out. Such was the long life of the 775 socket. Since then, I sold the E5200 and Q9650 machine because of the power consumption of so many rigs, and put a Xiggy Dark Knight on the Q9300.

Really clean build. I like it when there's multiple drives, but can only see one S/ATA. I was going to ask what the IDE's for, but I suppose it's the DVD burner eh?

Does the back bulge out from all the cables stack up and stashed? With bottom PSU mounts, it's hard to find any better place to stick 'em.

Quakindude,
Thanks, I'm looking at getting the Cooler Master V8 here in the next week or two.. according to Intel Thermal Analysis Tool & Real Temp I'm running right around 43-46C, the motherboard reads 52C.

Chumly,
Yes, the IDE cable is going to the dvd burner.
The SATA ports (1) & (2) on the EVGA 680i Motherboard are stacked of the side, that's why it looks like just one cable.
As for the power supply cables at the back of the case, the case back is made "bulged" to accommodate the wires, before installing the motherboard, there is enough room to run about half your hand in behind where the opening for the CPU cooler access hole is. Plus, I have the wires run fairly flat.. they don't protrude as much as one might think.
Later, Phil B.

Meh. The Hyper 212+ actually has the same performance for half the price. The V8 is a good cooler, but the price is pushed up by its admittedly gorgeous look. If you want to spend $60+ on an air cooler, a TRUE is a better choice.

Love the case - I have one too! :D It's deep enough so that it can hold big-ass videocards, but shorter than a full-tower so it doesn't take up as much space and keeps its weight down.

Oh, and I have the same power supply too, nice and quiet. Awesome system.
