Maximum PC

So Plextor SSD... how come no one is talking about these drives? I am looking to get one of the M3 series but it seems to me like either no one has them or no one is talking about them. I know everyone thinks of DVD burners when they hear plextor, but anyone have any feedback regarding the Plextor SSD drives?

Yeah, and that article alone had me breathless and not wanting to talk about them; needed a break. Not here of course, but in my other interwebs life. Did you like how it started? He didn't even know Plextor was a quality brand. Not in SSD, but as a whole. The good thing at this point, I guess, is that he's actually neutral. But trust me in that he got some friendly elbows over not knowing who Plextor is

Oops, wow...it got edited out and summed up in "I wasn't expecting much from it".

Basically with SSD, it's all about the firmware you make for it IMO. I don't see Plextor being any different from the other 20 vendors out there trying to get a leg up in a sea of "me too". Some stand out as being able to write good firmware, some don't. What did OCZ pay for writers...30 million? Vertex 4 has the same controller as the Plexy, but which one will pull out ahead in the end?

Check the prices too. Let the battles begin!
