Well i have an old 850MHz pentium 3, but i have upgraded and added alot of modern equipment into the pc, but anyway i have 1 fan in the PSU and the other fan which is the main one is the one sitting over the processor which takes all the air out. It has like a big tube the fan sits in over the processor and takes all the air out. So yes i only have them 2 fans. Also if you want to add the one on the graphics card that would make 3.

Everyone should list what case they have and temps so other can get an idea of how to improve their cooling :)

I have 9. Two rear for exhaust, two intake and one blowhole. If you count the GPU fan, the dual psu fans, and the cpu hsf then I have 9 fans total.

BTW I reccomend ThermalTake 80mm fans...

1 90 mm in PSU
1 stock on GPU
2x 90 mm blowing on both cpus.
2x 90 mm blowing air out
1x 90 mm blowing air off both cpus (windtunnel design)
2x 90 mm blowing air in front blowing cool air onto hdds and bringing air into windtunnel
1x 40 mm fan (high flow) blowing air on memory

All 90 mm are powered by a 140 watt mini atx psu with another 90 mm fan on it.

Overall, my computer isnt too loud still.

are you using a phase change cooler, or you using a water system that is cooled with a phase changer?

Dual stage condenser for the CPU.
Two water cooled loops with a huge passive radiator for everything else (GPU, North Bridge, Hard Drives and PSU).
Both the condenser and radiator are (permanently)borrowed from our labs, designed to cool mission critical microwave telecommunications equipment, so they're much more sophisticated then your average Vapochill...

you do know that those small 40 mm fans are useless when cooling your hdd unless your using the thick 40 mm fans for servers. Anyways, use a 80 or 90 or 120 mm fan to cool them, it probably will be quieter.

I have 2 fans total, one on my power supply, and one on the processor. I have an open grill thing that I can add another fan into if I want (my case was cheap and didn't come with any fans), but at the moment I'm broke.

Even with just two fans, I think my case is still kind of noisy, but I'm not going to complain. As long as I hear some kind of faint humming when I push the power button, I'm happy.

Hasn't having huge quantities of fans being "cool" go out of style yet?

Two 120's, hardly ever on. One 80mm on the top that has never been plugged in. It's about to get teh yank.

1 on CPU
1 on GPU
1 on Chipset
2 80mm on Case Front
1 80mm on Case Side
1 120mm on Case Rear

I voted 7, but now realize I have two fans in my PSU.
