Rule No. 10 says, "don't break the tables."
Breaking the table usually occurs when some asshat posts an url that is very long or an image that is too large (as viewed on a 1280x1024 screen). The resulting effect is that the text for all the messages in the thread go off the right side of the screen, and you must use the horizontal scroll bar to read the entire messages. Scrolling is also necessary to get to various buttons and the standard forum hyperlinks.
Here is an example of the tables being broken by posing a very lengthy url. Note the horizontal scroll bar and the inability to see the right side of the messages, or the thin red column on the right side of the website, for that matter:
A much better trick would be to use the
BBCodes to make a hyperlink with your own brief descriptive text, rather than the actual url. This can be accompished by using the
[url][/url] commands as show below. Note how in the screencap below, the tables have thoughtfully not been broken:
