Hey guys, I'm looking for the best program to convert different formats, avi, mpeg, divx, etc. to discs so any normal DVD player can play it back. A friend gave me some movies on a disc & he is able to put 3-4 on each disc and it plays in all DVD players. What would I need to do something like this, I can only put one movie on a disc after I convert it to DVD format. Is there a special format to convert them to to fit that many? It isn't the best quality, but it looks good enough and saving discs is a plus. I can't get a hold of him to ask personally, so I came here. I'm willing to buy something if I have to, I would like to have chapters & menus for it as well.

Hopefully my question is clear, thanks in advance!!

DVD Flick is excellent DVD Authoring software. It is rock-solid, user friendly and FREE!! I can’t think of a better tutor than OvenMaster to help you tweak its functionality if need be!

Also, I will add DVD Styler.

Both are free, rock-solid results that even ‘pay’ DVD Authoring software has trouble competing with and can be tweaked!

I use both and neither has let me down!

With DVDFlick I'll be able to put 3 to 4 regular length movies on it, give or take? What setting would I have to tweak to lower the quality to fit that many per disc?

Squeezing 3 or 4 regular length movies on one disc may end up compressing things so much that pic quality will definitely suffer. I'd put no more than two on a disc.

DVD Flick is actually a wrapper for a number of programs such as ffmpeg and IMGBurn, seamlessly running them in the proper order automatically and making compressing and burning DVDs a snap. Tweaking the DVDFlick interface is actually pretty rare, as most settings and operations are automatic and deliver great results.

brb011, thanks for the kind words. ;) I've used this program for years and learned a lot from trial and error.

I must say, however, that the latest available version, 1.3.0.7, has occasionally coughed up hairballs when converting Flash (.swf) video files. I use the previous version, 1.3.0.6, with zero issues. It's available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/dvdflic ... e/download or send me a PM with your email address.

Not at all, my friend; I know that if I have questions in this arena, you are the one person I want feedback from! :D
