Even cheaper at Fry's ... or just double down on this deal and get 16GB of 1600MHz for $120.

Yes, great deals are to be had, or there are great deals afoot. If I don't sound too much like Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes.

Three weeks ago I got back the Intel RMA replacement motherboard to replace one of those defective SATA ports 2-5 Sandy Bridge boards. I was thinking, "What am I going to do with this?" The very next week Fry's is selling the i5-2500K CPU for $149, I couldn't resist.

On Friday Fry's sells 8GBs of DDR3 1600 MHz Patriot G2 series memory for $50 cash. I could not resist again.
You could get it even cheaper on Saturday if you wanted to put up with a mail-in rebate. Though I don't know if it was the exact same package of Patriot memory.

I just bicycled (if you take the car you eat up some of the sales price advantage in gasoline) over to Fry's Electronics and bought 12 GB of Corsair 1600 MHz Tri-channel RAM with the Vengeance heat spreaders for $60.
With Los Angeles tax-rate of 8.75% it totaled $65.24

I don't really need it right now but you never know when you'll need some RAM. OK, I just could not resist this price.
