Could someone post the specs of the Nividia GTX 280M and GTX 485M please? I tried to look at the Nvidia website, but after 15 minutes it still wouldn't load. I guess their site is too advanced for our ancient browser and limited internet out to sea. I am deployed on a US Naval warship in the Western Pacific ocean atm. This forum loads ok, a bit slow, but ok.

The reason is that I had to ship my laptop back to Pro-Star for an RMA. It stopped working on me and wouldn't boot. I was thinking of upgrading from the 280M to the 485M since its in the shop anyway. Friggan cost me $65 to ship it and I had to dig up a box big enough from the cooks. Then I got to use shredded paper as packing filler. Love being on a floating prison!

Thank you thejake490, the information is much appreciated.

But, according to Pro-Star, the D900F will not accept the 485M. I need to find out what the best card for the D900F is and if it is even worth the upgrade!

Second post down:

http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-c ... ons-2.html

It would appear that if you have a
later version/revision of that laptop,
you may still be able to run a GTX480
or GTX485, but that the performance
boost may not be all that impressive.

As for SLi, if the motherboard in that
behemoth has the ports for two cards,
you may still be looking at modding the
chassis to hold both, not to mention if
the power requirements of the cards out-
pace the circuitry in your package.

Best of luck, Hope this helps!

Did you end up upgrading the D900F?

I know before they stopped selling them they were shipping with 480's, finding one might be a problem.

Sorry for the late reply, but life has been hectic. No, I never got to upgrade it. They just replaced the motherboard. Hell, now that I'm home I never use it.
