So i have a weird question, does anybody know any ways to CAUSE corruption on a usb flash drive? Im trying to build my data recovery skills, but, well, i need something to recover. The flash drive in question would be a 32gb model formatted as either ntfs, exfat or fat32. Possibly ext3 if im feeling sprightly. Any method that will just cause data corruption without physically harming the drive is appreciated

Yank it out while it's doing a write. But I guess it depends on what kind of data corruption recovery you're doing. Normally it's impossible to get 100% of a file if it's corrupted. But if you're trying to do some recovery, you could also fill it up with legitimate data, delete it, then do some writes to it to scramble the old data.

But yeah, there's no such thing as complete recovery from some data corruption.
