I'm new to the forums, but have been folding a long time. Thought you may find some old stats pages interesting.

This is my oldest screenshot, used a few computers to get me there. Date 7/8/2003.

This screenshot is from 4/28/2007.

Another from 4/28/2007 taken when I finally made it into the red. See some familiar names?

If my memory is correct these are the stats on my first folding computers.
My first was a 386 and gave me about 30 PPD, and took 3 days to complete a WU. Boy did it suck when a WU would fail and lost 2 days of work just to start a new one.
Next I started up a 286 and it gave me 10 PPD, still used it for a short time.
Third computer was of course a 486 with about 100 PPD, now I was flying.
Next to come was a Pentium 4 with around 400 PPD in the beginning. Had that computer for almost 9 years, it died a few months back and I stopped folding until I built my current rig. Got my $2,000.00 worth out of that one considering it folded 24/7.

Hope they bring back some memories.

All of those are before I got started, so it's great to get a glimpse of stats from the early days. Makes me really appreciate the perseverance of the users that have been here that long.

Many thanks for the pics. That was... 8) !

Thanks K_J_V, I got all misty-eyed looking over those names - so many have moved on.

wow, that is quite the flashback, thanks for posting. When I started in 09 Mutsu was one of the top, if not top folder not only for MaxPC but over all at ~1M PPD, now people are doing 5-6 times that

Once I get the new rig completed I'll hopefully crack the 100k PPD mark which is the new "red" achievement

On EOC it's currently 6k+ PPD for a bright red name and 3k+ PPK for the darker red name. The 100k+ figure is for team PPD.

Also, it's a flashback to see my name in the red with yours on the third screenshot. I remember when reaching 1 million points landed you in the top 50 to 75 -- In comparison, today a person with 1 million points is outside of the top 500 :!: .

some of us are still around
we just gave up when folding became a
dollars vs US game.
the way they started changing the clients and the points
there is just little room to make it "fun" any more.
Hell even the CC, has been taken away from us by
teams with big dollar backers like EVGA, why play
if you been beaten before you even start.

Why play? I don't know..first one I played in was the one that sucked. But I thought we wanted more then just winning a contest.

I just hope that all that folded before wanted to find a cure, not just win a contest. Where does the win, the real WIN come from?

You're correct that we have been beaten, but not from any contest.

Thanks for the screenshots K_J_V! Sure was great to see my old stats at #68 not far under yours. I worked really hard to get there! Never did get my top 100 badge lol and have dropped to #318 now. I didn't move on, I just wasn't able to spend the extra time and resources as the clients became too unstable and too much work to maintain, so I only had straggling work units here and there. Hopefully I'll have more success with the new client. I agree with EasyE- I fold to help find cures, although a little fun along the way can be a great motivator.
