Rub, or just a great hardwood smoke. Those that coat meat with sauce and get back an unidentifiable black blob of charred flavored sugar do not know how to bbq.

"Syrian redline crossing:

I say BOTH..... I'm of the opinion that the deed was done some weeks (months?) ago, and that we've known about it for nearly that long. As for a cover-up, it looks to me like the timing of our declaration that a red line has been crossed smacks of another "SQUIRREL!!" moment, given the scandalpolooza going on with the administration. "Uh. let me be clear, Valerie, it's time to change the subject. We'll start talking tough with Syria, and the right-wingers will be unable to resist rallying behind a tough-talking CINC, almost like Roger Rabbit couldn't resist 'Shave & A Haircut'. They'll forget all about this IRS, NSA, PRISM, Obamacare Rates Skyrocketing, etc..."

OK, here's one that probably has STRONG opinions......

You're supposed to add another 'This or That' to the mix with your reply

I'll take care of it.

Here's the story. I found a good deal in my e-mail for a used/refurb Core 2 Duo that included Win 7 Pro ($160). I added some memory and a new HDD to my cart and checked out. The HDD is for me to use to replace an older smaller HDD that I'm going to use to replace the HDD that is in the used machine. The main reason that I did this is because it saves me the time and cost of the OS and the other stuffs. I'm basically getting them a fairly decent computer with Win 7 for $260-240 or so after upgrades. Not bad. If I built one, it would likely be at least $300-400. Well, fun story.

Since I geek for work... it has to be work. When I go home, the last thing I want to do is geek out.

Out of the below list, what super hero would you choose for your city and why?

Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Wonderwoman, Green Lantern, hulk, Iron Man, Catwoman, Thor or Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow.

I'm far from any kind of musician, but I do like the look of someone like Travis Barker (he's just flat out amazing!) or Lars Ulrich pounding away on a nice kit of acoustic drums! By no means are they the absolute best that are out there, but they were the first to come to mind.

Some Travis:

OOPS! Thanks for bailing me out!

Hard choice, those three - all are giants in one way or another...

Elvis was amazing, but I think I'd lean toward the Stones - nothing against the Beatles (particularly like Sir Paul), but (I'm such an old man) didn't I hear that the Stones are still out there, touring? Not a big fan of Mick, but have enjoyed Keith Richards over the years.

Longevity wins with me!

I've been drinking the white and blue monster... a lot. It tastes great and give me a "good" energy not a crackhead rush.

I pick "CHIPS Patrol" for no other reason then that is the one I watched the most. Cops on motorcycles was fun when playing cops and robbers. To bad kids can't do that anymore. My bro was into Hawaii Five-O, I just liked the drum beat from the opening music.

As far as pure power of the BB-63 that is what I would want to fire. Can you imagine the recoil. I have part of the original decking where Japan surrendered.

If you had a choice to buy a product.\

I'd go with American, japanese, then everywhere else for things being made. With the amount of manufacturing that has already been outsourced, it's difficult to find things made in america or japan. Many things that are made in the USA or elsewhere can be of good or poor quality. It's really up to consumers and manufacturers to look for and keep up quality as opposed to other factors.

Anyways...

painting - room color in general:

lighter, 'airy' colors (yellows, very light greys, whites, light blues, etc.)

- or -

darker, 'earthy' colors (browns, reds, oranges, greens, etc.)

It depends on the room and its purpose, but usually I prefer earth tones. I like some of those in lighter shades, too.

We painted our living room years ago with a brick red. The molding was already a cream color and the ceiling an off-white. At first, I thought it was going to be too dark, but really liked it when it was done. It was a bolder choice than I would have made. Thankfully, my wife has an eye for decorating.

Back on the "American-made vs. China-made," if I have an option and the products are basically the same, I'll choose Made in USA. Like Gero said, it can be difficult. My Accord was made in Ohio with a large percentage of parts made in USA, even more than some domestic cars from the Big 3. I switched to Honda about 19 years ago after having major mechanical problems with a couple of American cars. Quality trumped brand ownership because I couldn't rely on national pride getting me to work on time. It's not just cars you have to watch the ownership vs. manufacture, either. I just bought new tires for my bicycle and chose a highly regarded Italian brand (quality again, plus they were on clearance), only to find the tires were made in Thailand.

Now, then, when traveling on vacation:

Interstate

or

State highways

I vote for interstate, but I live around Milwaukee, WI, so travel on the interstate is pretty easy. If I'm going away from 'civilization', the main way to get around is state highways, so those work well also.

How about this from left field:

UFOs:

Yes, they are aliens visiting us

- or -

It's the gov't, man!

- or -

Simple, they are normal or not so normal things that are mistaken for something 'unknown'

- or -

something else

good question, I have seen some of the anomalies that are referred to as UFOs, lights in the sky flying in formation at speeds unobtainable by aircraft of the day (40 years ago) and changing directions so fast which no aircraft of ours was capable of. this was up in South Dakota around Rapid City

while living in Colorado the first time, I worked for an agricultural business which sold goods and services to farmers and ranchers in the area, I have seen the cattle with holes in them and insides missing. no sign of anything that might have done it or footprints or any sign other than that of the cattle themselves. still cannot say if it was something out of world or not, but I do believe the government has more knowledge and proof than they are giving us. they consider us to stupid for this knowledge, it might scare us to death I guess. not.

well or city water, our well well water is so hard it is undrinkable. the water in California is so good out of the tap, that I had never had store water.

store bought water, a necessity out here. over 100 bottles a month.
