Okay, so after reinstalling Windows 7 Pro due to the overwhelming troubles with Windows 8 Release Preview, I've been struggling trying to get FAH to run on GPU... After a week I finally said enough & just removed the GPU from the FAH configuration.

I also decided to try to push my 1055t a bit further than I have in the past now that I have the "final" BIOS version installed. Under the F5b BIOS the best I was able to get was about 3.1GHz by bumping the FSB to 225, anything past that & I would start having problems. Thinking that maybe it was because of the BETA BIOS, I tried again today with the F7 BIOS, & wow, what a difference. I started at 225 & noticed that my CPU temps were only at 35C, so I bumped to 228 - smooth sailing... 230 - smooth sailing... 233 - smooth sailing... that's all for today, idle temp 37C. Though I think with this updated BIOS & the nice RAM I have, I might be able to hit 250 for 3.5Gz.

Started up FAH SMP, downloaded project 8046, & the FAH console was throwing out what I thought were some crazy numbers topping 30,000ppd...

That WU finished up & i rebooted, fixed the RAM setting in BIOS since I now have DDR3-2133 I can easily run it at the 8x mulitplier instead of auto. After reboot, I set FAH client to run under Windows XP SP3 mode because of some issues I was seeing. Launched folding & another 8046 was downloaded for which I've included the entire log file of that WU... Now, if you take the time of that first line (before the WU actually starts folding) & subtract that from the time on the last line which includes the time to upload the WU back to Stanford, you come up with 4,349 seconds to complete the project... that's just 43.49 seconds per frame... no biggie right, it's a small work unit, it's bound to go quickly... so I look it up on the Bonus Point Calculator using 43 seconds per frame and 1 minute for upload time the calculator says point value 1868 (client says 1867 point), which equates to 37,021ppd. :shock:

Now for the really shocking part... I was using the computer almost the entire time the WU was folding & if you look closely, you'll find some frame times of about 38 seconds at points that I wasn't using the computer... that's 44,400ppd if the computer is folding while not otherwise being used.

OF COURSE... I'd have to leave the computer sit 24/7 & get nothing but that WU to actually see that kind of output on EOC, but it's still damned impressive to me.

Turns out 8046 was just released Friday(along with 8047 & 8048), so it may be some sort of bug that's allowing super fast frame times, or perhaps the code has been optimized such that it just works really well as number of physical cores scales up???

Left my computer sit unused while working on an impromptu NAS build, got 2 more 8046, average frame time 39.15 seconds. Saw a post over at Stanford (in the beta forums) on a stock i7-2700K averaging 65,000 ppd. I think Stanford asigned the WU to many points...

Wow, woke up this morning & checked my system, I've gotten 14 in a row before picking up an 8013 a few minutes ago. The first 3 (2nd one is in the OP), were done with the computer being used by me, mostly checking email & forum posts, 11 more were completed while the computer was otherwise idle & looks to have on average been credited for about 1970 points a piece over a time span of just under 12 hours for an average ppd of just over 44,000. Thirteen of the WU completed successfully, but one of the 14 WU's was an instant EUE.

The 8013 is folding along at a much more normal pace for a 1055t, about 11,000ppd

What client are you using? I am using FAH Tracker 2 and I just get the 7200's?

Well... I reached my goal of 3.5GHz(14x250) on the processor. Frame times on this WU are down to about 36 seconds at 3.5GHz, closing in on 50,000ppd :shock:

Temps are only reaching 48C meaning that I could probably go even higher, but a 700MHz overclock with all 6 cores is damned fine for me right now.

Client v7.1.52 as seen in the bottom section of the above screenshot.

yep i noticed it too, from regular a machine i run on normally does 35 000 ppd and it was suddenly up on 150 000 ppd,, i was wondering if it was a bug (xeon 16 core)

wonder what number i get on the machine that normally has 120 000 ppd but that havent picked up a 8046 yet...

16 cores & you're running the regular client? Why not -bigadv? Or did you just happen to pick one up between -bigadv WU's???

Well, the string is over... picked up an 11020 WU. Still managed 31,043 points in the last 24hr period with only SMP folding on my 1055t... thats just crazy :mrgreen:

I just installed the v7 client on my Phenome II x6 @ 2.8 GHz and my Athlon II x4 @ 2.8 GHz The x6 is getting about 29K ppd and the x4 is getting about 13.5K ppd. Shoot, even my dinky 2.1 GHz Core2 Duo is getting about 6K ppd.

Stanford re-benchmarked this WU, & dropped the base point value from 180 to 84, so it should be much more in line with what similar WU's are producing. It was fun seeing those big numbers while they lasted, but at least now the points should be more accurate.

Newbie question.

I noticed I was getting a butt load of points also over the weekend so I decided to check the board. I noticed you guys are talking about bigadv and I have no idea what that is or how you tell your rig to make sure to get it. I have FAH running on multiple servers with 16 or 24 cores. I really don't mess with the settings so I don't know if I'm getting these bigadv or not or even how to check.

Any suggestions?
