Maximum PC

In August 2010, I bought an HP Pavilion dv6 3050US. Quick specs:
-15.6" screen
-Windows 7 Premium 64 bit
-AMD 2GHz Quad core CPU
-4GB RAM
-AMD 5650 GPU (it downgrades to a 4000 series when on battery)
-640 GB 5400rpm HDD
-DVD-RW
-It's in excellent condition - if a person wanted, they could tell their friends it was brand new.

I'm tossing in a neoprene carry case.

I wiped the HDD and reformatted to original factory settings, then, I updated all the Windows Updates; I've installed MSE. If it's still available for free, I'm going to add the Microsoft Office Starter Edition, too.

I realize all my added effort is more of a "perk" and I won't consider it in setting the price. So, what would be a fair price? I want to sell this soon since the longer I keep it, the less valuable it becomes.

If you really want to get a feel for what you might be able to make on it, I would check out equivalents on ebay and see what they sell for over the next couple of days. Keep in mind that the sale prices will probably slightly underestimate the actual value of your item. First of all, it's right after Christmas so most bidders won't be willing to spend what they usually would, and that may keep the auction prices a little lower than usual. Secondly, it's ebay so most buyers there will be looking to pay a little less than they would from other sources anyway. But overall, it's still a good quick way to get a ballpark idea of what folks might want to pay for your gear.

Without doing any research on used prices, I'd say list it at 650 and take anything north of 500. Try CL locally first to see if you get any takers before going ebay since you'll lose some money on listing fees and shipping. The A6/A8 cpu's from AMD really killed the market for their other quad cores that were already on the market and they come with a pretty decent gpu.
