Glad to hear they've improved, maybe I'll consider them again at a later time for more options, MAYBE, but for now I'm still skiddish. It all comes from experience.

Like Spartacus, I too have systems out there I used ATI GPUs in, that are still running great, and one of those is a 9800AIW. What's funny is I got that by returning a Nvidia Personal Cinema 5700GT that didn't work!

Just figured I'd chime in with the many voices who are having a tough time believing the problem is nvidia or have hands on proof that it's at least not all the CG5275s that are allergic to nvidia. When I bought mine I bought an nvidia gt240 at the same time 'cause although I'm not a true hardcore gamer, when I do want to play one I don't want to end up fighting problems that can be avoided by getting a proper video card. Anyway, I installed the card almost immediately and haven't had a single problem that so much as smells of possible being video card related. I'm thinking we might be talking PEBCAK issue. ;)

ATI's requirement for .net framework = fail, Never buy a 3800 series ati card.
