Maximum PC will be on the iOS Newsstand starting (I believe) next week. We'll make a bigger announcement when that goes live.
It will also be on Kindle starting next month.
The Nook version is already available.

Who says print's out of touch? :P

What kind of price-point are we looking at for the kindle edition? Assuming a subscription.

I downloaded the Maximum PC app on my iPhone this morning. I am kind of shocked, that if I want the digital version I need to pay an extra 0.99 on top of the subscription price I am already paying for a print version.

Can I assume that us subscribers might get codes to get a digital version for free?

Well, this has really turned into a train wreck of an electronic publication. Instead of providing a quality, one-size-fits-all solution, maximum PC has been targeted to proprietary DRM encumbered platforms and fisher price (read: apple) users :(

Your rant would be a little funny to read if it weren't for the fact that yes, this is MPC, and most of the reader base would not buy an iPad.

Many people, myself included, would not buy an iPad even if it were the only thing on the market.

So, and iPad digital edition? Never going to happen. A digital edition that happens to work with iPad?

Never gonna happen huh genius? Is my rant funnier now? Do you have any other predictions for me? Maybe you can recommend a stock so I can short it. Maybe you could call Jon Philips at Wired and see if he'll take you on as an assistant since you both share common beliefs about magazines on the iPad.

So i have subscribed to both the print version and now the digital version on my ipad.

Why is the digital version so far behind? I got my newest print version about a month ago but my ipad is still on the Social Media issue.

Can you pass this along to the decision makers?

Thanks

How often does the Digital Edition come out? I subscribed when newsstand came out. I've been charged for the second months subscription, but there is no new edition to download? Though the newstand app still has a red notification badge and the MaxPC has a "new" banner across it.

So I was just wondering if my iPad app has an issue?

I'll look into this. Not sure of the publishing schedule for the digital editions. They should be the same as the print ones, but since this is a new platform for us there may be some kinks I'm unaware of.

Hey Nathan, while you are checking on the digital editions, how do you subscribe to the Kindle version of Maximum PC?

I've looked for it everywhere and can't find it. Or is it even available yet?

Is there any plan to let current subscribers get Maximum PC for free from the Kindle newsstand like some other magazines are doing or will I have to cancel the hard copy version and subscribe to the Kindle version? Inquiring minds want to know... at least I do. Thanks :)

What say you?

You probably won't have to wait much longer for an answer. I'll bet the "hard copy" version won't be around much longer. They're already offering subscriptions for $1 an issue but it's not even worth that anymore really. For $1 an issue you get an out-dated publication chock full of advertisements. For free you can get similar stories on magazine websites and blogs. The websites and blogs have figured out how to fully fund themselves with advertising revenue but the print magazines have to contend with printing and distribution costs. If they put out free digital editions, no one would buy the print. Catch-22. I realize this is just my opinion but I think the lack of foresight for digital editions by many print magazines (even tech ones) has killed the print versions. It's only a matter of time... At this point the print edition would have to be free for me to renew.

I have been a long time fan and MaximumPC subscriber. My subscription unfortunately was in jeopardy due to circumstances related to living overseas. Mail support was going to become a serious problem due to possibility that my address would change and the distance would be unreasonable to travel.

Well, thanks to technology and your magazine being available through the iPad I do not have to worry about this problem anymore and will continue to enjoy those valuable articles and tests, as well as the insightful editorials.

This subscription through the iPad has been a valuable addition to me and I will continue enjoying the future issues.

Anyone know if there's a way to get the Kindle Max PC mag to show up in full magazine form? On my Nexus 7 it's formatted for small devices/phones so the page layout is lost. I'd rather pinch and zoom to get the magazine as published. Or at least have the option.

Is there any plan for MaximumPC to take part in Google Play's Subscription rates for already existing subscriptions process?

That would be fantastic! I haven't posted on here in years, but I logged in just to support this :) I've gotten a couple other magazines (hard copies that I subscribe to) through Google Play. Nexus 7 FTW.

I will say I am disappointed in the execution of the magazine to digital experience.

Not sure if I am the typical user, but..

I subscribed to the digital version of the magazine on iBooks. Great. Works like a champ. I can read it on my iPad, iPad Mini and iPhone.

Occasionally I am sitting in front of my PC (no apple device here) ...like every day (read sarcasm) yet cannot read my magazine in any digital format (except old PDFs). I cannot determine how to access my iBooks version on my PC.

I don't care about the cost of paper versus digital...I had both for a while and now only have digital...a little over lap but I think it cost me about 7 bucks during the transition...not even worth my effort to figure that much out.

I am solid digital now...but I want access to what I purchased on the device of my choosing.

Thanks,

Tim

Wouldn't you be able to access iBooks on your PC from iTunes?
