I want to see these unreleased versions of Windows screenshots?

I have been screaming about the sloppily hidden malware in Windows for years
If I can find it, it wasn't hidden good enough and is therefore not a secret
If it is NOT a secret, it cannot be protected as a trade secret

Microsoft
A Law unto Themselves!

Microsoft should give that ex-employee a medal of honor for the publicity and advertisement. It is crappy OS, now they blame this poor guy as a scapegoat.

Who would WANT to copy any part of Windows 8?

I loled VERY HARD when I read this:

----------
The documents point out that having access to the SDK could allow a hacker to reverse engineer the code that's put in place to protect against piracy.
----------

Mother of God, are you serious? All versions of Windows can be easily pirated. What a lie.

Knowing how France likes to sell tech to our enemies perhaps Iran and Russia will thus end up with Windows 8. That could be a cyberwarfare coup on a level to make Stuxnet look like a script kiddie attack ;)

For some reason it seems strange to me that this guy was arrested for this crime.

...why on Earth did Microsoft have setups in Lebanon and Russia?!

They knew it was an inside job because no one else uses Hotmail

The comments here trivializing corporate trade secrets are simply staggering.

Corporations spend large amounts of money to keep their trade secrets... well, secret!

Your opinion of MS does not make this ex-employee's offense somehow OK.

Should Coke or Pepsi be "ok with it" if their secret formula's were released on the internet?

Should Google be legally concerned if some random employee released how their search engine works?

Stop with the ignorant comments and start having a viable discussion!

So many on here have no clue or appreciation of the business world. You do!!

Oh those poor corporations... they've really got it rough. Sorry, I don't have much pity for corporations whose #1 goal is to make a profit at the expense of everyone else.

Seems you have no understanding of where your money comes from; it's from people who make profit and are taxed so you can free-load off them.

Thats done it...

Gird your loins for the incoming hate....

Yep, I think you don't understand the whole existence of businesses and corporations in society... They are different from non-profit organizations (which often are still in the business of making some people rich...).

avatar

profdlp

When you go to work who do you give the money to? I hope you're not trying to make a profit for yourself - that would be SO wrong...

"...at the expense of everyone else"? Wha?

"...that was really when the leaks started. Well into 2014, Microsoft employees began leaking source file after source file. By June 2015, we had completely reconstructed the NT Kernel and, by August, we had about 90 percent of the Metro code sent to us through connections routed through the TOR network and were able to reconstruct the rest through guestimation. On into 2016, we received over 2000 source files from different anonymous sources. Of course, Microsoft stood firm on the outside. They were always faked source files and old code, at least to Redmond, but we could see past the facade. Inside, they were falling apart. Inside, there was war.

For awhile, things became quiet. The leaks stopped. Windows9 dropped with a rebuilt kernel and a reworked interface. It seemed to be over. Then, January '17, it happened.

A newly married couple checked into a cheap hotel in Las Vegas. To their horror, they discovered their room had been broken into and vandalized. In the center of the room, face down in what later turned out to be over half a kilo of pure, uncut Colombian cocaine, lay the lifeless body of Steve Ballmer who had fallen off of the radar completely just months after his impromptu exit from Microsoft. In the corner of the room lay a rather large external hard drive containing the entire Windows software stack source. The only indication of its mysterious creator was a small sticky note labeled 'Bullwhinkle'..."

Oh Noes!! He released Top Secret information about the Tablet Emulator called Windows 8! Off with his head!!! Kill his family & children!! We must make an example of him to discourage others from releasing such vital information that is so crucial to our National Security!!

OK, I was just exaggerating, but seriously, Held without Bail for such a stupid offense? I seen killers & rapists get Bail, but I guess Windows 8 is that serious to the clowns at Redmond.

Who would want Win8 secrets? Now if it was Win7 then it would be some news but Win8 - who cares?
