Awesome. I'd drop a 20 on it.

My first thought was: Paper Mario!

Looks cool, but it has been done. I'11 play it!

"Looks cool, but it has been done."

So has the 1st person shooter.

Looking hard for things to pick on are we ;)?

What I was trying to say was: because Paper Mario already did it (and made a big impression on me), I'll play this one without much forethought.

2.75D (or whatever) games like this and P.M. have a neat play style and level of interactivity.

I don't get it either. Never ever on my PC.

That looks pretty slick seriously if you could get away from that damn 3-D mode everyone is under the sun about you might have some more interesting RPGS... I'm a 3rd person guy by default cause the 1st person thing has been milked to the fullest.

I would get it for my kid. She loves these kinds of games.

I don't get the "retro" theme. The only reason we had blocky graphics in the past was because it was as good as the technology allowed at the time, not because we liked it. Are people choosing to watch tv on black and white televisions somewhere as well?

Agreed. I can understand playing some retro games because they were ones we liked, even if the graphics sucked (classic Mario for example). But to make a new game with the 8/16 bit graphics seems like laziness to me. What, can't make a decent game out of the tech that's out now, so you need to resort to blocks? Sorry, this isn't 1979, and it's also not minecraft.

So the game is called "fail"?

I seem to remember another 2d game of some acclaim that had the gimmick of rotating the world as the player character moved.

I'd like it if we could get to a time where games that take on a non-realistic styling go more for what yesteryear's classics like Psychonauts did and less like a higher-res Super Nintendo. As I really missed out on that console generation I have no nostalgia for it.
