No SATA Express? No DDR4?

Not interested.

I was kinda confused on this too. I thought the haswell-E was going to be DDR4. I was going to do a new build based on this but now I'm rethinking that.

This is Z97, which is more of the "mainstream" oriented platform. All of the "next gen" tech like DDR4 is slated for Haswell-E, which is the X89 chipset.

X99 chipset.

If I was in the market for a new PC, I'd probably hold off till DDR4.

How do they manage 4 way SLI on a CPU with so little express lanes? I read somewhere there's some kind of add-on to these higher tier boards that gives you some extra lanes?

[I'm all for new technology, but shouldn't board launches wait until the new Haswell refresh chips are, well, available? Unless I am mistaken, Intel has not released them yet. You can only be so prepared for something! Also, Paul, props to always staying on top of things. I swear this site's daily posts would drop at least 30 percent if you weren't around]

I probably should have pointed out that these are LGA1150 boards that are compatible with current 4th Generation Intel Haswell chips, in addition to upcoming 5th Gen CPUs.

Also, thanks for the props.

So I am guessing that this is is going to be dual channel?

Yes. It's is dual channel as it still uses Haswell.
