i tried to use windows xp, but in all fairness guys, i started getting viruses because microsoft and avast dont support catching viruses in windows xp. i realized it was time to switch when i got a virus using the Opera browser on a virus-facebook page. i laughed and thought Opera was immuned on windows xp.

I'm probably gonna be running Windows 7 until the day all of my computer parts (mobo, CPU, HDD, etc.) finally bite the dust. I'm still enjoying Windows 7 today and probably won't plan on upgrading my OS (I'm basically running Windows 8 on my phone so I don't feel the need to be doubling up the experience).

There is no way MS will force me to buy or use Win8. I will wait until Win9 comes out and if it is anything like Win8 this it will be time to consider a switch to Linux. I already have Linux on an old PC and I have found not problems so far other than the learning curve. Win8 was a mistake for MS and they will not admit it and they will not force me to use it. I do not want a tablet style operating system on my PC. Metro is terrible.

im not an all-out hater, but im just gonna type this just in case all the haters start flooding the area with all the W8 bashing.

We all know that the W7 extended support ends on 2020. But for the mainstream support, as 2015 creeps in closer and closer (God, time flies WAY too fast), it just sounds like M$ is rushing the W7EMS (W7 Ending Mainstream Support) on purpose so they sell more of this craptastically awesome OS called Windows 8.

Do you thing there will be a service pack before then?

pretty sure they won't. M$ employee and executives are too focused on W8 right now.

Lets see how the backlash is when W9 is released. If W9 is good, I doubt there will be much, but if it is not, then I'm betting MS might just extend their support a bit past 5 years.

Good news; I just hope my old W7 PC's last until W9 is released.
