Associate (to the) Editor David Murphy joined Maximum PC in November 2006, and has since jumped into the sexiest beats the magazine has to offer: displays, cooling, cases, storage, miscellaneous stuff, music applications, and rocking out. When he's not writing blog posts or surfing for lolcats -- which, really, are pretty much the same things -- you'll often find him up to his neck in boxes, as he receives a ton of mail and/or products on a near-daily basis. He used to have a box fort, which shielded him from the outside world and/or probing questions of fellow co-workers. Alas, those glory days are no more.
Murphy, as he's often called by said co-workers, used to work for a magazine called Red Herring. Prior to that, he was but a wee student at the mighty Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism, where he earned both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in journalism during his four, quasi-undergraduate years. During his time under the purple gates of Northwestern, he interned at both Chicago Magazine and PC Magazine. He was also involved with just about every campus group under the sun, and is surprised he kept his sanity pretty much intact throughout his educational career
When he's not pushing copy, you can likely find Murphy somewhere on a stage in the Bay Area. That, or wandering about the pretty landscape, taking pictures of everything neat he can find.
